New Year's Eve 2015: a year in review

As I was walking in the very quiet dark morning to the train station, I was overcome with such a grand overflowing feeling of being blessed.

I looked back in a year's time, and I could visibly see that my wheel of wellness was more rounded out than just a year ago.

Just some awesome highlights of my 2015:

1. My assertion of myself has improved greatly.  I can see how this applies when I speak with my spouse and other members of the family. The cool thing is, there is space for improvement!

2. My financial situation has greatly improved. There aren't many individuals I am grateful to for helping me get to where I currently am.

3.  In the course of this one year, I have switched over to two new phones. My current phone allows me the convenience of working on this blog that you are reading as well as provide me with great music I can choose easily! Wow. Technology has quickly evolved in the last 20 years or so.

4.  My relationships have improved.

5. I have adopted a morning sacred sipping ritual as well as an exercise routine that has helped shape my body from flabby to more defined and lean.

I have also discovered the company, Purium Health Products, which helps me stay on track with providing my body with raw organic whole nutrition.

6. My youngest child has started speaking in some small sentences. He is so cute!

7. We got to visit with my spouse's family this past winter as well as in the Summer. We got to see his brother and his family at Thanksgiving as well, so it has been a good year of family get-togethers.

8. My grandfather survived his brain aneurysm... His going into the hospital brought me in with cousins and family that I do not see often anymore.

9. I surpassed my goal of reducing my weight (I was 167 pounds around this time last year) to 148 by my birthday. I managed to decrease the weight to 146.5 before my birthday.

10. My eldest is sleeping better at night. He doesn't make as much noise as before, and he sleeps mostly uninterrupted.

11. My daughter started learning piano and swimming, and has gained in both areas.

My list goes on, but now I would like to share what I am looking forward to.

Looking forward to:

1. Increased financial freedom!

2. Better health: more vibrancy, energy, improved vision, mental focus, adequate sleep, lightness, flexibility, lean muscles, clear skin, presence, etc.

3. Furthering my career in health coaching via blogging, conference calls, book writing, group trachings and one-on-one coaching.

There is something in the near future called the One Ton Challenge that I am very excited about!

4. Leaving Canada for a short 'vacation'.

As well, I am excited for what surprises the Universe has to present me. Let's go with the flow :)

What is on your list?

Wishing you peace, prosperity and personal power in 2016!

Kim

Thankful Thursday, Christmas Eve 2015

Thankful

1. The happiness and joy amongst co-workers today... Wishing each other a Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays regardless of religion.

2. Eating and enjoying shortbread cookies once a year... I think I had one too many on the train going home... But I own the consequence as I was the one who chose to indulge.

3. Getting to leave work a little earlier, being able to walk underneath the sunshine of an incredibly warm day near the end of December.

4. Making some food before my In-laws (I call them the in-loves) arrive tomorrow.

5. Listening to Bears (Barry Neil Kaufman) teach Optimal Self Trust.

6. A most thoughtful gift from my secret Santa... Who would have known that we did smudging at home? And a scent free hand lotion. That is so me! Thank you, Secret Santa! Also a couple of really thoughtful cards. Thanks Thasha!

7. Family, friends, strangers, smiles, sky, train, street, shoes, sitting on this chair typing on this new phone made in China... Sending you warm wishes to enjoy the presence of this very moment.

Blessings,
Kim

Wonderful week: December 14 - December 20, 2015

Awesome:

1. My daughter was utterly surprised when she saw me at her Holiday concert as she sang Feliz Navidad and Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer. Adding to her surprise, her dad was also able to attend the event.

A week prior we all thought no parent would be going.... And she let the tears and angry eyebrows crowd her face every day.

Well, what a miracle!

I will cherish this memory as I also hope she will too.

2. My body feels like it's melting away unnessary fat again effortlessly as I have been enjoying my kamut blend with chlorella and carrot juice powder.

My kids (nor I) liked the PowerKids that I was so looking forward to. I spoke... But I managed a couple of times to blend it into a smoothie and then the boys would drink it merrily.

3. Hot to chat with my friend Cat, and brought up the PowerKids. She urged me to return it for a refund. Thinking that it wouldn't be worth the cost of shipping, I had not even considered it.

I called customer service, and the female on the phone was very helpful. She said that there is a 60 satisfaction guarantee.

So I actually paid over 16 dollars tobship the empty jar and scoop back to the company for a refund.

4. My sister managed to do some nice art work on Little M's hand. He want to be a part of the nail painting when he saw Auntie was putting nail polish on his sister's hands.

5. My mom being here to help us watch the kids as well as make us good food.

6.... So many great things... Like picking kale from my backyard in the middle of December!

Going to gather sleep now.

Peace and  tranquility to all,

Kim

Super Saturday and Sunday, December 12-13, 2015

Friday:

Little S yelled with years coming down her face: "I hate Friday, Saturday and Sunday!"

"Why?"

"Because I miss my teacher! Monday is my favourite day because I get to see her again!"

Nice.  I remember being very close to my teachers as well. They were so much easier to get along with than my own parents. She must feel the same way ;)

Highlights of the weekend:

1. Little R threw up overnight all over his bed, himself and his three stuffies... One of which was a stuffed penguin with a flashlight in the tummy.

I felt kind weird putting them into a garbage bag along with his pillow. I felt kid of like putting pets into a garbage bag.

But it was done.

Fortunately, Husband managed to find him a nice one from the Thrift store.

2. Had a beautiful night time walk with Little R to Giant Tiger and back. It was so peaceful, calm and mild. I held his arm as well as held his hand as we walked and aired the shiny colourful Christmas lights in people's properties.

3. It was so awesome that I took Little S on a night time car ride on Sunday. She loved it too.

4. Changing our bathroom shower curtain after many years of use to a new fabric one :)

5. Walking in the canned food aisle, a gentleman exclaimed to me, "I don't know what to eat." And he held up a can of baby clams.

He explained to me that his wife had cholesterol. Well, wasn't that the gift. I started asking him what his body asked for. I was able to give some general encouragement to eat greens, taking baby steps to et more whole unprocessed foods.

I am so glad when these opportunities pop up for me to speak my passion: wellness!

6. I noticed a huge deep scrape on the outside of the back passenger car door when I went to put groceries in the car.

It is to date the hugest dent I have seen our car sustain by someone else.

What I loved about this situation was it allowed me to realise how far I had come in being present and in control of my emotions.

I was not angry. I looked around to see if anyone around was going to accept the responsibility. There was no note on the windshield.

Alas, I was safe, and the car is still functioning well.

When I got home to ask Husband about it, he didn't seem to be so concerned.... Until he saw for himself this "scrape".

Then my daughter saw it. "Oh my Goodness! Now we'll really know how to know it's our car!"

Now that is innocent and logical :)

7. I managed with my sister's help switch over to using a new mobile phone!

8. little M and Little R really really really enjoyed the green smoothies I made them with the Power Kids shake as well as cracked chlorella and kamut juice blend.

Just being on the greens juices again for the last three days, I can see my body firming up and shedding excess fluid retention.

Now it's time to slip into slumberland... Zzzz

Thank you for reading,

Kim

Thankful Thursdays, December 10, 2015: endless list

Endless list of blessings this day:

1. My train was delayed about 15 minutes today, but I made it into work just 2 minutes past my start time ;)

Even with just a fifteen minute difference, I was able to relieve myself with the toilet at the GO station. As well, I was able to enjoy the glimmer of the silver reflections of the chilly lake.

2. Enjoying a wonderful holiday. Celebration with co-workers. It was so much fun! We work hard and play even harder it seems ;)

I loved decorating and getting to know co-workers I would otherwise have little contact.

We enjoy an abundance of delicious food  as well as a Portuguese tart.

3. Drinking my Kamut blend with Carrot Juice Plus. This totally have me some awesome energy walking toward the go train station in the morning.

4. Going out with my co-workers after work. Thank you, Husband, for putting the kids to bed.

5. Showing my daughter the gingerbread houses. "Mom, there's a place I really want you to take me."

"You want me to take you to my work?"

"Yes! Isn't there a 'bring your daughter to work' day?"

Lol

6. Experiencing A fatigue about 20 minutes after I started eating the left over rice and some potatoes on the train heading home.

This again is a reminder of how high amounts of starches (refined carbs) affect my body, and therefore affect my life.

7.  Walking home later at night permitted me the chance to see the stars above in clear night. It also allowed me the chance to bump into the paperboy. It was nice chatting with him and finding out his mom was doing with a new baby.

8. My bed, my covers, my pillow.... My wonderful slumberland...

Now, list three things that start with J that make you happy?

Lots of love,

Kim

CHOOSEday, December 8, 2015: it's here!

New and good:

1. Got home today and found this box greeting me at the door ;)

I had been wanting the Powershake since the last drop was savoured.

I am excited to use the kamut wheat grass blend as well as the cracked chlorella with Little R.

I am going to just take a snapshot of him before and each week into using the products.

Also, the other two will be able to enjoy the Powerkids shake.

It may be very difficult to get kids to eat veggies (it used to be easy when the kids just ate broccoli and bitter olives... Then came the influences of society and school), BUT fortunately, getting them to drink them is easier :)

2. Little M and Little M out ornaments up on the holiday tree in our living room mostly getting along.

3. Little R just looked at me when I was tucking him and bed and doing some energy work. He knows so much that he does not speak, and he gives me the biggest opportunity for growth in being understanding, intuitive and compassionate.

I thank my family every day for presenting  me with the challenges and precious laughter.

Choose your day your way :)

Kim

Monday, December 7, 2015: no moans

Why was my weekend great?

1. Got to chat with my friend Kathy on Saturday, sharing insight on our special attention kids (I just made that up - instead if special needs). It's really awesome to someone else who is as interested in getting what's best for their child who also understands the unique challenges we face as parents.

2. Sunday I got to spend time with Little R cooking while Little M was doing an activity with the iPad. It was peaceful and productive. I chopped vegetables and he out them into the pots then stirring. One time he was too quick in throwing my garlic into the pot without me grating it.

I will definitely work it into my weekly Sunday meal prep.

I also noticed that he didn't do any of his verbal noises or Kung fu movements (intensely waving his hand and moving his legs) during our cooking.

3. As they (Little and M and Little) started to drive me a little impatient, I got them to take a walk with me to Giant Tiger. It was cloudy but mild out, and j didn't have to carry or pull anyone. I just held one bag while holding onto their warm hands.

Today:

I am feeling my stomach and body are negotiating the departure of an unwelcome virus. As I hear Little R yawning, I keep my ears open for any possible warning of oral rejection of stomach contents.

It's times like these that remind me of how super dee duper it  is being healthy.

And having the ability to detox is really great although it may not feel so comfortable.

Looking forward to receiving my greens and the Power Kids this week!

Going to sleep now. Ah, sweet slumberland... Here I come :)

How was your weekend?

Have a great start to the week!

Wonderful Wednesday, December 2, 2015:

Wonderful things in this past week:

1. i had an awesome Saturday taking all three kids out early in the morning, dropping off Little R at Christian Horizons then actually successfully completing errands with the other two... With the help from some junk food!

We went to FreshCo, Value Village, Metro, Today's Natural Solutions and the Big Deal before getting to Little S' last day of SwimKids. While she was swimming, I was able to take Little M around the arena watching bigger kids play hockey. We also managed to watch Little S from the gallery. She had come such a long way since that with summer Swimkids lesson in July.

She's moving on to SwimKids 3 in January! Congrats, Little S!

After SwimKids, we even managed to go shop at Almost Perfect for ten minutes. Then we we back to pick up Little R.

If that wasn't enough, I took on the courage to take them to Walmart to buy Little R a new pair of indoor shoes.  You wouldn't believe how quickly he wares out clothing, shoes and anything he "uses".

I was quite impressed. Little R sat and tried in shoes while the other two looked at toys.

By the time we left the place, I had two intensely upset crying kids. One was sobbing "my ice cream, my ice cream", and the other one just saying how much she hated me because I would get her a Barbie.

Thank goodness for Barney's CD in the car! That certainly helped change the sounds from crying to upbeat kids music about love and joy!

Then the afternoon onward, my sister came over to play :)

Awesome and fanatic Saturday, it was!

2. Great day at work. I love the beautiful decorations this holiday season. I especially have found an appreciation of my neighbours' outdoor Christmas lights.

I used to be quite judgmental about these things. I am happy to recognize my shift to feelings of appreciation rather than having negative thoughts about this way of using our electricity.

3. Spending time with Little S by taking her to piano lessons. She is doing amazing according to her teacher.

It's funny how her perception is compared to measured 'reality'. For example, I had spent time with her at the library and even briefly at the bakery and Giant Tiger before going home.

She promised to wash up an take a shower... Every Wednesday, in fact.

But the pattern has been that she says 'no' and resists the request with her whole body and screechy voice.

Although the struggle doesn't feel so wonderful, I can see how this is an opportunity for me to grow and to create solutions. Children are so authentic and emotionally expressive.

Anyone else have challenges with getting your child to do what you ask the first time you ask them to do it?

4. David Sandoval and Amy Venner (co-founders of Purium) we both on a really exciting call tonight regarding the launch of a kids power package.

I am so very very looking forward to getting good organic greens into the bodies of my kids. There's just some things in the way: junk food availability is everywhere including school (and home), good food takes time and energy to make... And as a working mom, my schedule leaves me limited time to do the green smoothies all the time... However, now that I have tried the Power Shake, I am very confident that the kids will like the Power Kids shake.

Look: here I was last week on Wheatgrass Wednesday... Have you had freshly pressed wheatgrass juice?

What's wonderful for you?

Wishing you a wonderful day!

Kim
