1. My parents and my sister came with the kids and me to go blueberry picking at Wilmot Orchards in Newcastle today.
It was the first time that my parents came along. Every year we always went early and were lucky to have slightly rainy and cloudy weather with an abundance of juicy big ripe blueberries.
This year, however, we went later in the day resulting in blueberry seeking under a hot sun.
There were already lots of other pickers when we arrived.
To our disappointment and surprise, it was slim pickings. I was in disbelief, but welcomed the contrast. It made me aware that blueberries can all be picked or can all fall off.
We picked as much as we did and took the kids inside to sit down out of the hot sun.
Although I have decided to significantly cut down on dairy, I was ready to buy us all an ice cream.
Surprisingly everyone including both my parents wanted an ice cream cone. So I happily paid $26.00 dollars for 2 kiddie cones and 5 single scoops.
The kiddie cones were in the regular cones while the single scoops were served in waffle cones. I asked for Little R's to be served in a cup so that he would be able to eat it with a spoon.
It was like a childhood dream come true. Never in my life had I had the chance to teat my parents to an ice cream cone. Actually, I did not even know they ate ice cream!
What a joyous occasion :)
2. I got eat organic lavender ice cream!
3. My dad mentioned that he liked the food for supper. It was just some greens with rice and another stir-fry.
It's awesome to hear :)
